What makes up a story?, Week 2

Hi Parents and Caregivers,

This week we are learning during big book time 'What makes up a story'. We are looking at the story 'Goldilocks and the three bears'. You can view this at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oaw-d3r_gIc

We have learnt about the setting (where the story takes place), characters (the people and animals in the story) and the plot (important events in the story, including the problem and solution).

Setting: House/Cottage, Forest/Woods.

Characters: Goldilocks, Three bears.

Plot:What happened in the beginning, middle and end. Problem: Goldilocks welcomed herself into someone elses house. Solution: She escaped from the three bears into the woods.

Some questions you can ask your child:
Where does the story take place?
Where was the setting in Goldilocks and the three bears?
Can you name the characters in the story?
What happened in the beginning of the story?

Thank you,
Room 22
