Today we celebrated Mr Limbricks 20th year at Arahoe Primary. We made him a whole school card and all dressed like we were going on a boat. The school also had a special assembly where one child from each class said a few words to Mr Limbrick. What a special exciting day.

Today in class we made our own books about bugs. Our big book this week is all about bugs. We used our fingerprints in water based paint to make our bugs and the used black market to make their legs. The story goes like this: " I like bugs! Black blue bugs, Green bugs, Fat bugs, Lady bugs, I like bugs! ".

Today we got to visit a real bee keeper. We saw 50,000 bees in a hive. The bee keeper showed us some of the tools he uses with the bees and let us ask some questions. We learnt that the queen bee lays eggs and after 25 days baby bees hatch out of the eggs and chew through the wax lid. We also learnt that wax is actually white and it is the pollen that makes it turn yellow. In the hive we saw a queen bee who was been born and was going to take half the hive to start a new hive. This was very exciting and we really enjoyed seeing the bees.
Today we went to see 'The Big Sad Wolf' show in the hall. We got to meet lots of different fairy tale characters. The show was interactive and very funny. We really enjoyed meeting the children from learning curves too!

Today our national library books arrived. In the box was a book on 'Mouse Shapes' by Ellen Stoll Walsh. We read the story and then decided to create our own mice made out of shapes. The shapes we used were: triangles, rectangles and circles.
