Today we were learning to write and recognise "teen" numbers. We sung a song about "teen" numbers and then we went outside and wrote our "teen" numbers on the concrete with chalk. After that we played a game finding "teen" numbers on the concrete. "Teen" numbers are 13,14,15,16,17,18,19.
Today we wrote the words in, win, sin, pin on the chalkboards. (The children sounded out these words themselves). We talked about what was the same in the words which is I and N. Then we talked about what was different in the words which was the biginning letters W in win, S in sin and P in pin. Look at us below:

This week we have been learning about shapes. On Monday we made a shape picture and told the teacher how many sides each shape had. (We are learning to say the names of shapes and how many sides they have.) On tuesday we went to the playground to find shapes. (We are learning to find shapes in the playground and tell the teacher what the shapes were used for). It was so much fun. Come and see our shape display in the classroom!

Green day was fun! We all dressed up in Green and went to assembly. We got to eat yummy food we had ordered from the week before. A girl in our class received a certificate in assembly for learning all her letters/sounds in her notebook, well done! We also got to dance along together in Jump Jam! What a great day!

For the next few weeks we are learning to play the game 'Rob the nest' with our classmates. We are learning to play fair, cheer our team mates on, run without falling over or bumping into others and learn basic rules to the game. Today we had so much fun we even asked the teachers if we could play again tomorrow ...

This programme guarantees a free 200ml packet of milk to all students per day if they want. From time to time, students may choose not to drink milk and this will be the childs choice. The school has been provided with new refrigerators for this programme and will receive approximately 3500 packets of milk for students consumption per week. A nice gift to our students from Fonterra.
Our local police man is coming in to visit us twice this term. He is teaching us about how to keep safe. In our lesson today Constable Carl came in to teach us what to do if we get lost. It is very important for your child to learn their home address, phone number and first and last name. A worksheet was placed in their poem books to help with this.
