Reindeer Pokey Poem Week 9

Hi Parents and Caregivers,

This week our poem is called "Reindeer Pokey" and is sung to the "Hokey Pokey" song. We are enjoying practicing our poem this week and acting out the actions. We are also making reindeer candy canes to go home with our poem. These will go home wednesday after school. Our reindeer drawings with our poem are going to be awesome.

Reindeer Pokey Sung to: "The Hokey Pokey"
You put your antlers in. You put your antlers out.
You put you antlers in and you shake them all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!
You put your hooves in. You put your hooves out.
You put you hooves in and you shake them all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!
You put your red nose in. You put your red nose.
You put you red nose in and you shake it all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!
You put your fluffy tail in. You put your fluffy tail.
You put you fluffy tail in and you shake it all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!
You put your reindeer body in. You put your reindeer body.
You put you reindeer body in and you shake it all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

Poem Week 8

Hi Parents and Caregivers,

We have all worked really hard on our poem this week. Here is some of our finished work and our poem is below.

Poem:
Hungry Mr. Caterpillar
Hungry Mr. Caterpillar was looking for a treat. He said to the Ladybird, "What's good to eat?" Ladybird said to Mr. Caterpillar, "If you're hungry for a treat, try some fruit that's good to eat!"
Song:
My tummy is fat. (snap snap)
I like it like that. (snap snap)
I wiggle around,
I jiggle around,
My tummy is fat. (snap snap)
I'm a hairy caterpillar
I'm such a chubby feller
I love to eat and eat,
Those leaves are such a treat!

Recycled Gardening Week 7

Hi Parents and Caregivers,

As part of our topic 'Green Fingers' Room 22 is learning to make a plant holder out of recycled materials. We all provided a recycled item to make our plant holder out of. Some items we decided to make our plant holders out of were: a lamp shade, a wooden box, a blender jug, a cardboard box and milk bottles. Today we put soil in them and planted our sweet peas seed. We have decided the seeds need: water, sunlight and soil. For the last two weeks of school we will be looking after our seeds at school. Hopefully they all grow.

Santa Letter 2012

Hi Parents and Caregivers,

In Room 22 over the next week and a half we are going to write letters to Santa. We are learning to write letters in the correct format. We will be publishing the letters on special writing paper and posting them off to Santa. Please come in and tell me if your address has changed so your child recieves a letter back from Santa. Here is the details that are posted on the nzpost.co.nz website.

"Send a letter to Santa

Ho, ho, ho from Santa’s workshop...send a letter to Santa this Christmas, and he will write back.

Hi kids!

It's nearly Christmas time so be sure to write to me and tell me what you want this year. All you have to do is fill in the form below by Friday 14 December and I'll send you a letter through the mail in return! Be sure to fill in your correct address too.

Or, if you want to put pen to paper, write me a letter using your favourite stationery, put it in an envelope and stamp it then post to my postal address below. Don't forget to include your name and full postal address!

Santa Claus
Santa's Workshop
North Pole 0001

Be sure to check your letterbox for my letter closer to Christmas - and remember to leave some cookies and warm milk next to your fireplace on Christmas Eve....yum, my favourite!

Merry Christmas,
Love from Santa Claus"
