Final day of art ... We finished painting the rocks for our rock pools. Then we glued everything together on our art to make our masterpieces. They are amazing and really represent the beach trip we are about to go on. Great work Room 20.

Today in the junior photo club the students were asked to take photos that show the value of Integrity. They took the cameras out in search of integrity. The value integrity is that your actions match your words, honesty and being a friend. Look at some of the photos the children took to represent the value.
Our Body: we are learning about our body and how it moves. Today we pretended to look in rock pools. We then drew ourselves bending over and coloured them in with colouring pencils. We cut ourselves out and place them around the rock pools. Later in the day we made paper mache rocks with glue and newspaper.
Today in class for writing we took pictures of ourselves in Dr Seuss templates and then told the teacher a story. We also listened to 'The Cat in the Hat' story. You can view more at Seussville: http://www.seussville.com/author.html.

Exploring the way artists have reused and recycled materials to create works of art. Assemblage Art is a 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional artwork made by arranging reused or recycled objects. One girl from our class has already finished her assemblage art at home. SHe brought it in today and we have proudly hung it in our window. We look forward to seeing other works of art and hearing what is special to your child. Thank you Nikki and Sarah
Today we started our rock pool art. Below you can see what we planned to have our finished product look like. Ms Reid is in this week to help teach art.We learnt to looked at different shades of the same colour blue e.g. dark blue, light blue. We also learnt where the sky meets either the land or sea is called the horizon. And practical knowledge: We were learning how to use a roller for painting our sky. Finally we started to make our rock pools for the bottom of our art. We cannot wait till friday when we will have hopefully finished our art.

This week in class we have been reading the story 'The Pirate'. This story is all about finding treasure, but the pirates find rocks in their treasure box. So as a class we decided for pre entry visits we would go on a treasure hunt. We had an amazing time hunting for treasure with the visitors. Thank you for coming to visit us at school. What a great end to the week.
Valentines day has started off amazingly in Room 20. Little gifts have been prepared to be given out, even Miss Ellis and Miss Watson recieved some little gifts. Then we went to assembly and one boy in our class recieved a certificate. Then came jump jam where we got to dance in the hall. We can't wait for our treasure hunt later with the visitors to go with our big book 'Treasure Island'.
