We have been learning how to weave (Raranga) in Room 22 as part of our Maori Language Plan. As a class we practised first with paper and in a few weeks we will try with flax (Harakeke). Our final results were amazing and we are proud to display them in our classroom. Below is some photos and an explanation of how Harakeke is like a whanau (Family).
Maori Proverb
E hara taku toa, I te toa takitahi ēngari he toa taku tini.
My strength is not from myself alone, but from the strength of the group.
Thank you, Room 22
E hara taku toa, I te toa takitahi ēngari he toa taku tini.
My strength is not from myself alone, but from the strength of the group.
