Hi Parents and Caregivers,
Today we made grass heads.
'I like my grass head and think it looks cool because I put my favourite colours on it'. Ryan
'I like my grass head because it has pink eyes. I like pink'. Maya
'I like the head because its going to grow grass'. Aaliyah
'I like my grass head because it looks beautiful' Marshall
Instructions: Step 1: Cut off an 8" (20cm) section of stocking that includes the toe. (You could also use a "tube section" that doesn't include the toe - you'd just have to tie a knot in one end to close it, then turn it inside-out to hide the knot.) Step 2: Stretch the stocking over a large cup or mug, and spoon in about 2 teaspoons full of grass seeds. Step 3: Pack in some sawdust or potting soil. Aim for the head to be roughly tennis ball sized. Step 4: Tie a knot to close the end. No need to cut off the dangly bit. Step 5: You can make a bulbous nose or ears by grabbing a bit of stocking and twisting. Fasten base of the nose with some thread or a small rubber band. Step 6: Decorate! Use fabric scraps or permanent marker to decorate the face, and coloured paper to make the yoghurt container into a dress or a suit or whatever you like - get creative! Just make sure that any glues or markers you use for the head are water-proof.

Music, Thursday Week 3
Hi Parents and Caregivers,
Today we spent the morning in the music room. We are learning the song 'One Seed' which relates to our topic about Gardening. First we sang the song and then we glued the song into our Maths books. We really enjoy singing the song.
Here is the song we learnt:
One Seed
C Am F G
There once was a seed that decided to grow
C Am F
While others laughed and teased
C Am F G
But that seed just wouldn’t say “no”
C F C
In itself it truly believed
Chorus
F C
It took one seed to make a difference
F C
It took one seed to grow up tall
F C
It took one seed to have the courage
C G C
One seed that’s all
C Am F G
The seed took root and grew real tall
C Am F
While the others laughed and teased
C F G
You won’t last long You’ll only fall
C F C
Yet the seed grew into a tree
Chorus
Now that tree is fully grown
And now it’s making seeds
Strong enough it won’t be long
As they grow up into trees
Chorus
Next time that you’re seeking shade
And find it under a tree
Remember that seed and the risk it made
How it grew for you and me
Thank you, Room 22

Our Garden and Writing, Week 3
Hi Parents and Caregivers,
This week we are continuing with our persuasive writing. Our plants are growing big and strong because we have been looking after them each day. We are very impressed that our sunflowers have started to grow. Here are some photos of the progress our plants have made and us busy at work writing:
