Visit from Room 23

Room 23 came over to Room 20 today to show us the costumes they had been making for the school show. They have been working on the costumes for two terms. Look at the sea creatures they have made. Thank you Room 23 for your visit. 

W is for Whale

Today we were learning about W and the sound W makes. We started our whales today by painting them. Tomorrow we are going to finish them. As a class we got to watch a film about fish for topic. What a fun day! 

Oliver the expert

Today Oliver from Room 14 came to our class to share his expert knowledge about fish. He told us about all the different fish in the ocean. Oliver brought along the book called 'The BIG book of NEW ZEALAND WILDLIFE' by Dave Gunson. The difference between river water and ocean water is: 'River water we can drink, ocean water we cannot drink because it is salty'. 'Fish have stripes to scare other fish off, they can also be colourful to scare fish off'. 'Octopus blow out ink to escape from predators when they are scared'. Oliver you were awesome!
