Whole Class Story Writing

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Today we are learning about how to write stories with the teacher. We talked about how we need the date, our name an a picture to start a story. We also talked about how a story starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. We used the word 'is' and our new word we are learning 'the' in our story. Today we recognised that C and K can make the same sound in some words. When we came to 'carrot' in our story we talked about the inital sound and decided that it was the letter 'c' because we had seen 'carrot' written before in a book. Then we self assessed our work and decided on three smiley faces, and finally a peer assessed our work and gave us three smiley faces. Yay! We are awesome! Please remember to recap with your child the words 'IS', 'MY', 'ME', 'AT' and our new word 'THE'. Learning outcome: COP SW BEG 1&2, PFI skills 3, I am learning to draw a picture an tell my teacher the story. Thank you, Nikki and Sarah

I’m a Super Listener (Poem)

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Today we learnt our poem 'I'm a super listener'. We looked at the words 'at' and 'me'. The Casey shapes that make up 'a' are: open mouth, short stick, 't': tall stick, twig, makes 'at'. The Casey shapes that make up 'me' are: 'm' short stick, tunnel, tunnel and 'e' twig, open mouth. Assembly 15th Feb 2013

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Today we went to our first assembly of the year! We meet all the teachers in Ara Teina, Our very awesome super listener won a Certificate and we sung 'Put on a Hat', where one of our children who has just joined choir got up on stage.
