Daffodil Day
Today we made Daffodils for Daffodil Day. We used straws, cupcake holders, muffin holders and split pins to make them. Have a look at our cool daffodils.

P is for Puffer fish
Look at the cool puffer fish we made in class today. We used lots of different coloured paper and pipe cleaners to make our puffer fish.
Life Education Van 2
Today was our second visit to the life education van. We got to look after puppets and talk to them about how to look after ourselves. Things we remembered and taught our puppets were: washing our hands, cleaning our teeth, eating food and breathing air. Look at the cool gift bags we got.

Kelly Tarlton's Trip
Today we went on our trip to Kelly Tarlton's. The penguins had new nests where they will soon have babies. We went into the education room and got to ask questions about fish. This was very helpful and we learnt a lot about fish. After the education room we went to look around and finally we got to see the stingrays being fed.

Clocks
Today we made clocks for maths. We are learning to tell the time. We are also learning to order numbers. Have a look at the cool clocks we made.
Meeting Harold the Giraffe
Today we went into the life education trust van. We learnt a song to sing when we clean our teeth: 'Brush, Brush, Brush your teeth, Brush them twice a day, Front and Back, and in between to keep the germs away.' (In the tune of Row, Row, Row your boat). We also meet Tam and learnt about our heart. Jess (Life Education Van Educator) gave us all a booklet to work on in class. We can't wait to go back on thursday and sing some more songs with Harold.

Reminder
Hi Parents and Caregivers, Don't forget next week is our trip to Kelly Tarlton's on the 28th of August (Wednesday). Also we have the Life Education Trust visiting us. We will get to go to two sessions in the van. A parent information session will be on Thursday 29th august at 2:30 in the van. The cost for each child to go into the van is $3.00 for loyalty card holders and $3.50 for non- card holders. Red Nose Day
Today we supported cure kids. You’re helping to fund cures and better treatments for conditions like childhood cancer, heart
disease, cystic fibrosis, sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI), asthma, and many more life-threatening illnesses that mean the children affected often miss out on a normal childhood. We wore our red noses to school and made red nose day cookies. Thank you for supporting such an important cause.

Fish maths 1-10
We made fish hand prints using paint. Then we placed them in our books and put the numbers in order 1-10. Finally we traced shapes and made coral out of them. We are very good at recognising numbers and putting them in order.
Ss is for seahorse
Today we made seahorses in class. First we put blue glue along the back of our seahorse. Second we sprinkled sparkly paper on the glue. Third we glued on the eyes. Yay our seahorses are cool and match the letter of the week which is S.

J is for jellyfish
Look at the jellyfish we made. We used cover seal, glitter, and sparkly pieces of paper. What great jellyfish. Jellyfish starts with J and is the letter we are learning this week.
Sharks
Sharks... Sharks have lots of teeth. Sharks eat fish and animals. Sharks can smell very well. Sharks swim fast. Shark babies are called pups. Look at the sharks we made. We made sharks out of pegs, paper and colouring in pencils.

Room 19/20's trip to the library
Today we walked to the new Lynn library. Rachel from the library talked to us about books and then took us on the tour to see all other places we can go. We were very quiet and enjoyed learning about fish. Rachel also gave us a library work booklet to help us learn about fish. What a cool treat.

I go, go, go
Our big book this week was 'I go, go, go'... I go up. I go down. I go into town. I go fast. I go slow. I go, go, go ... Away. We made cars and then drew chalk race tracks on the concrete. The teachers numbered our race tracks 1-20. Then we had to make car noises and find the number the teacher called out. As a class we are learning to recognise numbers 1-20.

Ready for filming

Red Nose Week

Car numbers 1-10
We are learning to count forwards and backwards to and from 10 in class. We are learning to recognise and place numbers 1-10 in order in our books. View our cool car pictures and numbers 1-10.
Alphabet letters and sounds
In your child's notebook you will see a alphabet and high frequency word booklet. Instructions are placed in the notebook about this. You will already see some stickers beside letters, sounds and words that your child already knows. Please practice this at home.

Ballistic Challenge

Competition of strength
Who was the strongest in Room 20? Well Room 20 went up to the playground to find out. We had a competition on the monkey bars. The strongest girl was Penelope and the strongest boy was Shiloh!
Fish passports
For writing this week we have been learning to describe fish. As a class we made our own fish passports. In these passports we had to describe our fish, name our fish, tell the teacher our fishes age and gender and describe the special features our fish has. These passports are in our writing books. Mr Limbricks Visit to Room 20
Today Mr Limbrick came to our class to talk about fish. We asked all these cool questions. Our principal told us all about his fishing experiences. We learnt that fish have to be 27 cm or more to keep. Some snapper can live for 60 years. Flying fish use their wings to escape predictors. Thank you Mr Limbrick.

Getting Dressed
Hi parents and caregivers, Today we finished our jelly worms. In our writing book we wrote stories about the jelly worms. After we read the book 'The rain came down'. In this story worms came up from the garden. For our health topic this week we are learning about 'Getting Dressed'. Our book this week is all about getting dressed.
