The Powhiri today was so much fun. We were welcomed into the school! The songs sung were amazing. Thank you for being such wonderful children at Arahoe School!

20 Kids in a Car!

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Today we went to Miss Watsons car and counted how many children fit in the car. We managed to fit 20 children in the car and practiced our "teen numbers". Then we came back to class and wrote a story about it. Thank you, Miss Watson and Miss Ellis

Library

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Last block today we went to the library. We love the library so much! It is fun to sit and read our books. Just a reminder to bring our library books back every wednesday so we can get a new book out. Thank you, Nikki

Orchard Visit at School!

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Today we visited the school orchard. We looked at the apple trees and the passionfruit vines. The apples were sour that we tried. We decided they need to keep ripening and stay out in the sun. We wrote a story about our visit to the orchard back in class. Thank you, Nikki

Rhyming Words

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Today we talked about rhyming words in our poem. We looked at 'tank' and 'sank'. Then we said what was the same in the words 'ank' and what was different 's', 't'. We also matched in our big book the 'question mark', 'full stop' and word 'in'. Thank you, Nikki & Sarah

Count to 20, Count in 2's, Say and recognise our teen numbers!

Hi Parents and Caregivers, In class we are learning to say and recognise our "teen number". Please write the teen numbers down and ask us how to say them. E.g. 13,14,15,16,17,18,19. We are also learning to count in twos to twenty, 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20. Could you help us practise counting in 2's at home?. Thank you, Nikki & Sarah

Hi Parents and Caregivers, This week we are recapping the words 'the' and 'it' and learning the new words 'my', 'and' and 'I'. Best Class at Jump Jam Again! And Music!

Hi Parents and Caregivers, Today we were best class at Jump Jam again! Then we went to music and learnt a song. We are great singers! Mrs Sadgrove our music teacher helped us and we loved it. At music we did some movement actions. Then we played statues to music, where we had to freeze when the music stopped. Today has been so much fun! Thank you, Nikki and Sarah
